I have way too many interviews waiting to go out now and am not doing any new ones at this time. Please do not request an interview.*

*If you have discussed an interview with me before 1/30/12, then disregard this.

I’ve been doing this podcast since August, 05, and have never claimed to be an expert. I just talk about what’s on my mind. But since I want this to be of value to you, I also interview pro writers on this podcast. If you’re an author and want to be interviewed, then the following info is for you.

What I Want

I tend to lean more toward science fiction/fantasy writers, as that’s my own preferred genre. I’m certainly not tied to the concept, and am fully willing to talk to any pro. The podcast is heavily focused on novelists, but I have talked to songwriters, comic book writers, and television writers.

The uncomfortable part is that I usually want to talk to pro writers, not self published. I don’t look down on self published people; I self publish my own stuff all the time in audio format. The thing is, as I’m inexperienced in the world of pro publishing, I need to interview people who aren’t inexperienced. I can, and have, interviewed self published people, as well as podiobook authors, but I want most of my interviewees to be pros. If the podcast were a more general “talk about books and authors” kind of thing, I’d have no problem. But we’re talking about writing as a career, so I need to talk to people who know the intimate details of agent hunting, dealing with editors, and the ins and outs of the publishing process. So please be prepared; I may say no. It’s nothing personal.

What You Get Out Of It

This podcast has a baseline of 6000 dedicated listeners, many episodes get more downloads than that. You will get to talk about your latest project and your writing process, and only spend 10-20 minutes of your time doing it. I’m not Oprah, but I have many writers and readers listening.
