Happy New Year! I’m back from Christmas in the disappointingly un-snowy Buffalo, NY. Getting my wordcount, uh, counted for 2011, looking at goals and stuff in 2012, planning a big blog post and end of the year show, and then…

I saw this on Twitter. Writer’s Digest 101 Best Web Sites for Writers is taking votes.

I’ve coveted this award for years. I have one of the oldest writing podcasts (And I think the oldest active podcast, as I was second after Mike Stackpole’s The Secrets.) I have around 8000 listeners who are devoted, many of whom started listening as newbies and have gone on to be published, not to mention many published authors listening. Is this the best site for writers? Well, probably not. But is it among the top 101? I’d like to think so!

If you have gotten any benefit from ISBW, please vote! I’d love to be included on this list. I hate begging for votes, but this is big enough that my shame is eclipsed by my sheer wantage.

The basic instructions:

  1. Send an email to: writersdigest@fwmedia.com

  2. Put 101 Best Websites nomination in the subject line

  3. Write a brief note asking for WD to consider the site for inclusion in the 101 Best Websites list and make sure to provide both the NAME of the blog/site, as well as the URL.

  4. The deadline for nominations is January 1st, and winners are announced in June.
