Hello Mur,
I’ve only recently started listening to your podcast and it’s immediately become one of the handful that I can’t miss.
I’d never heard of Jonathan Coulton or Brad Sucks before ISBW #169 and came here to confirm names. The former’s site seems to have problems with Internet Explorer’s Trident engine, while the link to Brad Sucks should be http://www.bradsucks.net/ rather than .com.
Thanks for your work and good luck with Nanowrimo.
Thanks for the music episode! I love finding writerly music, and it’s not something that’s easy to find in Google. Here’s another one I’m quite fond of, “Writer’s Blok” by Jackson Pearce:

(or download the MP3 from her blog here: http://watchmebe.livejournal.com/663104.html)
I hope other people will post with other fun writing songs, just to help me find some more.
I really enjoyed this episode. I always have music on when I’m writing, from the BladeRunner soundtrack to the Black Eyed Peas. So I find it interesting to hear about what music other writers use for inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Mur – I’m just now listening to this episode and enjoying it immensely. As I was the one who mentioned jumping the shark on Twitter, let me emphasize that it was a joke! (Damn that 140 character limit!) When a TV series runs out of idea, the writers seem to decide, “Gee, what if we had an episode where everyone sings? Wouldn’t that be great?” (See: NYPD Blue, Buffy – and their evil spawn, including Glee and the short-lived cop series that featured characters spontaneously breaking into song every episode.)
So yes, I *could* have just turned it off. But I didn’t.

Hi Mur – Your show’s one of the highlights of my week. Long time listener now for a few years! While I haven’t started writing, I find the story of your career analogous to other aspects of my life. It’s always a good reminder that you’re not alone in stumbling through life just trying to make it big. It’s refreshing to hear stories about grit and determination.
I just wanted to drop a line b/c this may be one of your best podcasts yet! Great job! Thanks for sharing!
