Am I crazy, or does Mur Lafferty sound just like Laurell K. Hamilton??

Hey Mur
Just started listening to the latest show and you know what – the editing process you describe sounds like a streamlined version of “How To Revise Your Novel” (as per the nice ad in the right-hand column). Way to go!
I’m working through the course right now and getting some of the same effect you describe, i.e. editing killing the creative urge. The first 16 weeks of the course involve a really detailed analysis of your manuscript and the creation of a new outline, then in the last few lessons you finally get hands-on and actually edit/rewrite the book, filling in any gaps. Needless to say, I was really looking forward to actually fixing my book instead of reading the manuscript _again_!
The editing went easily enough, but those of us with a bunch of new chapters to write have found that it’s _really_ hard to switch gears. I’m still excited about my story, but even so, I really have to force my butt in that chair and hands on the keyboard.
So don’t worry, you’re not alone!
Cheers
Anne
