When 3 Wishes Aren’t Enough: the Genie’s Union
The Genie’s Union meets every epoch or so, to discuss matters important to their employment. Benefits are rehashed endlessly, and the clear class conflict between genies of lamps and genies of rings does not make the discussions easier. Elderon, First Among Omnipotents, keeps things in hand, but genies have a history of getting their own way eventually.
Take, for example, Coperniqui, Thirty-Seventh Among Omnipotents. Coperniqui is going to bring forth before the Union an issue that gets knocked down every meeting, an issue that almost all genies are opposed to: the increase of wishes per customer from 3 to 4. Coperniqui is going to put in front of the Union, and Coperniqui is certain that it will pass.
For Coperniqui knows that very existence itself hangs in the balance…

Alice held the lamp carefully, staring at the wispy, smoky form sifting out through the spout.
“You have three wishes,” The Genie said.
Alice’s eyes shone. She turned to Freddy, who also ogled the Genie. Freddy leaned over and whispered in her ear. Alice giggled and nodded. She was so excited, she stuttered.
“I wish…I wish I was a supermodel.”
There was a flash of white light, and then Alice stood beside Alice, and they stared at one another. Both were long-legged, thin, with gorgeous hair. Freddy stared too, and drooled. He leaned up to one of the Stutter-wished Alices and whispered in her ear again. She slapped him, then turned and whispered in the other Alice’s ear. Freddy stood his ground.
The second Alice slapped him as well. Undeterred, Freddy cocked his head to the side. The two Alices frowned at him, turned to one another, ogled one another, and giggled. They began to kiss, and Freddy stepped forward, placing a hand on each of their hips.
“Hey!” the Genie said impatiently. “That’s only two wishes. You have one more.”
The three ignored him, and he got angry. “Look, I know what you’re doing here, but it won’t work. His wish doesn’t count…”
