That’s the only thing that connects them. Barry is an electrician with an ex-wife and a kid already in the ground. Cecelia, having finally worked off those last stubborn 15lbs, spends most of her time trying not to think about food. Roger has had enough of his father and his belt, so he’s gonna try to hitchhike as far away has he can get. Winnie’s refrigerator is plastered with drawings from her grandkids. And Gertrude still wets the bed, frightened of an evil lurking in the darkness.

Each one of these people has been visited by an arcane, alien presence that has shown them the future. The world will be destroyed, unless these five can stop it. But even if they succeed, the cost will be their own lives. These five ordinary people are going to need to look deep inside themselves to find the strength to save the world.

The end of the world is coming. And The Goners are going to meet it, like heroes.
