Good news on vacation!
I am happy to announce that as of yesterday, I am being represented by Brandi Bowles, an agent with Howard Morhaim Literary Agency!

Sudden thought today: it seems the scifi authors who wrote about things that actually ended up happening (like the Internet or nanotech) seem to happily embrace the swiftly changing landscape of the world, while others (cough*Ray*cough*Bradbury*cough) seem to hate the science-fiction-come-true of today. Do we think there’s a connection?
Vacation has been full of family and painful tumbles down stairs (i’m fine, just bruised) so posting will continue to be light. Although I do hope to get you some podcasts shortly.
Writing prompt for June 23: The light is scary because it gives you no good place to hide, right?

Congratulations Mur – that’s awesome!
Wow, Mur, that is fantastic news. Congratulations on representation!! You deserve it.
Mur, not sure if you watched the old Ray Bradbury theater but there was a whole episode where he nailed far too well how the cell phone market/always on mentality would become. It’s staged as an interview with a guy who was put in prison for destroying technology after he got sick of being constantly available via his not-quite-bluetooth headset thing. Bradbury was always a sort of throwback/nostalgia sci-fi guy… part of 451 was that he was against all the technology and it was the story telling/literary thing that was important.
I guess I’m just saying his stance on the internet isn’t terribly surprising. For many individuals it’s a fear/worry (sometimes not unfounded) of being unable to control the signal-to-noise ratio that fuels their dislike of technology (or certain technologies).
Oh, and CONGRATS ON THE AGENT!
All right, Mur! That is so cool! (Not the falling down the stairs bit — that’s just a sad cry for attention.) This is really big! I’m so glad you finally broke through. It’s about time someone took notice.
Go eagle go!

Congrats!
Glad to hear you survived your fall. Who would do ISBW? Love the “light is scary” prompt.
Congrats, Mur! That is awesome news! Sorry to hear about the fall, though. That’s definitely less awesome.
Congratulations Mur!
Congratulations on the agent success! Very well deserved!
