Welcome to June and a shinier ISBW blog!
I’ve been wanting to do more with this blog for a long time, so I decided to make ISBW your stop for news, query/writing advice, and writing prompts. I’m going to start updating the blogroll with excellent agent/editor blogs, twitter feeds, and other information. When I’m stuck for content, I’ll just feature a blog you really should be reading.
Writing prompt for June 1: Your character has one birthday in the past s/he won’t talk about. Why? How does that affect your story’s present day?
Best Writing Advice for the Day: 8. Don’t ever type a comment or blog post while angry. Step away, call a friend, eat an entire pie. From 10 Author Online Promotional Don’ts
Query Advice for the Day: Don’t talk about your children, pets, or job unless it’s directly related to what you’re writing. Every aspect of your query letter should be focused toward selling book. (Actually, I’m pretty sure you never mention your children, even of – or especially if – you’re writing a children’s book.)

Mmmm… pie *drools*
I love the new format. I especially love the prompt of the day. Awesome idea, especially as I am in full writing mode, working to edit my book into something publishable. Thanks, Mur, you’re a big chunk of why I’m writing again after a year long hiatus.
