  1. I like how you say that even if you know what you are writing stinks, just write it – you can worry about editing it later. I think taking that approach keeps the internal critic at bay on the first draft.

    The listener who asked a question about derivatives in his world should think about licenses (Creative Commons or otherwise) not as signing rights away but giving someone else permission to use part of what you created. If he was to use a Creative Commons License that allows derivatives and and commercial retail of that work, there is no limit on who can use it. If he wants to give permission to a specific person, he can do so face to face. Just write it down so both of you have proof of the agreement.
