ISBW VIDEO Special #39 - Connie Willis Interview Pt 1

I was thrilled and honored to be able to co-conduct the Guest of Honor interview at Balticon 42, to interview my idol, Connie Willis. This is part 1 of 2 in the hour-long interview. Thanks to JC Hutchins for camera aid.

  1. Strangely, iTunes tells me this can’t be played on my iPhone. iTunes doesn’t offer me the option to convert it to make it playable on iPhone, only to Apple TV. I’m sure this is an iTunes problem, but is there anything you can do - set some ‘bits’ to make iTunes think it will play on iPhone?

Thanks and - great show. I wish you all success.

  2. Grant, I tried to make it ipod compatible and then it saved to a 111MB file. So I made a MOV, which wordpress said was ipod happy. I’m not sure what to do with the video, it’s not my strong point.

  3. Doesn’t seem to be working for the Zune either, but as long as I can see the video on the site, I’m happy.

  4. Yeah, I couldn’t get iTunes to transfer it to my iPod either. Apparently the iPod only supports H.264 and MPEG-4 codecs in either .mp4 or .mov containers. As regards file size, you’d have thought any conversion software ought to let you set the res & compression amount, but obviously not…

Guess I’ll be watching on the PC.

  5. Mike-

You’re assuming I know enough about video to make this work. Sadly I don’t. Sorry.
