Congratulations on the book deal. I know it is not a major publishing company but I hope the book sells big time and we see you on the best seller list.

Kindest regards from Australia

Congrats on getting your novel published. That must be very exciting. I hope the podcast doesn't change too much, though, as the majority of your listeners have no use for the selling process right now. Most of us just care about getting the damn thing written at this point.

God luck with your book!

One of your listeners asked about gay characters and I just wanted to point to two more examples - Torchwood - BBC Dr. Who spin off (I have only seen season one) and Darker Projects did or is still doing an episodic Sci-Fi drama called the Falcon Banner. The main Character, the hero, is in a same sex relationship with a crew member. What I liked about both these shows is that sexuality never over shadows the main conflict. Maybe that is how to approach any spec fiction story, sex is a nice way to talk about character - straight or gay, but the audience is most likely reading because of the speculative happenings in the tale - well, for short stories anyway. I don't watch Torchwood for all the steamy adult content, I watch it because of the speculative Torchwood world that has been created.
