The main Character, the hero, is in a same sex relationship with a crew member. What I liked about both these shows is that sexuality never over shadows the main conflict. Maybe that is how to approach any spec fiction story, sex is a nice way to talk about character - straight or gay, but the audience is most likely reading because of the speculative happenings in the tale - well, for short stories anyway. I don't watch Torchwood for all the steamy adult content, I watch it because of the speculative Torchwood world that has been created.
