    Did you know that the Decatur Book festival is the same weekend as DC? Just though you’d like to know. Decatur is very close to DragonCon and a very short train ride. See you at the Con!

    Hi Mur, I have a whole list of whackable words stuck to the top of my of my computer screen. “Was” is on the top of the list. The other words I hunt down in my rewrited are “were, is, be, been, had, have, very, just, that, felt, really, all, almost, now, somehow, something, thing, it, there, seemed, and, even, as, of, like, realised, started, began” I find that most times I find any of these words in my writing, I can make that sentence or passage better by changing it to a stronger more active form.
