New host, new blog, new view on life!
Hi guys! the issues with the blog got to be enough that I moved to wordpress. I know it’s a change, and the feed will be odd with only the last several eps on there, but things shoule be smoother now. I do know the page doesn’t look terribly exciting, and most of my sidebar stuff will return, but I just wanted to make the blog work.
Thanks for your patience, I’ll be tweaking throughout the week.

Hooray for working feeds! I recommend using CompleteRSS and FeedSmith WordPress Plugins for optimal feeds.

I think ishouldbewriting.com is now pointing here, not sure how long it will take for it to update everybody everywhere (probably a day or two).

Hey, Mur. I empathize with your frustrations. Good luck with the switch. I’ll be observing how it works out for you.
All the best,
Mark

Mur, love your podcast… But I don’t love the gray text on the black background– it’s very hard to read. Can you make the text lighter or larger… please?

Hi Mur,
You can easily port the rest of the feeds over from Blogspot - I went through this exact process a few months ago. Email me if you want to know - it will take about five minutes.
I think it’s much better having your own domain but I agree with tinach - I’m not hot on the small white text on the grey background.

Hi Mur,
I recently overcame the initial reluctance and subscribed to Heaven parts 1,2, and 3. I’ve been enjoying them so far, but I’ve got only one complaint that shouldn’t be too hard to fix going forward: Please please please number your podcasts with leading zeroes if there will be more than nine podcasts! (01, 02, 03, etc) They don’t appear in proper order with more than 9 because they come out like 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 2, 3, 4 because the podcatcher sorts based on the first digit it finds, like alphebetizing. It wasn’t a big deal (though it was annoying) with Geek Fu, Pseudopod, and ISBW, but with serialized works, it’s important to put them in the right order. Now my playlists are jumbled. Help Mur!

dischord, I’m delighted you’re listening to Heaven, but I’m confused as to your complaint. The files are numbered as per podiobooks.com’s system, which is, for example, PB-Heaven3-03.mp3. The first 3 indicates the third season, which will not be going above 9, the final number is the chapter number, which will go from 01-12. All of geek fu, pseudopod and ISBW episodes are numbered on a three digit system, with geek fu beginning on 001 and ending on 103.

Most podcatchers sort by Release Date by default. If yours does not, you can certainly change that within your app.
Mur, love the new site. Looks as good as pie.

Just started using wordpress for my blog and I love it, much better than what I used to do with my blogs (frontpage!) loving all the features, I’m starting off fresh since porting w/o an RSS feed for automatic importing sucks.
One nice thing about wordpress is the integration with Windows Live Writing free download from microsoft - makes editing and posting very easy!
