ISBW #53 - In Defense of NaNoWriMO
It’s almost NaNoWriMo time! I also discuss my time at Viable Paradise.
For some future podcasts, let me give you some referential information: When we read Hamlet (Beer with Billy, where we drank and read Shakespeare) the guy playing Opheila decided to do her as a death metal singer. It was the best Ophelia I’d ever seen. Also, you must learn the appropriate balance between dinosaurs and sodomy.
Lastly, you can check out the nanomonkeys podcast where we’ll be podcasting every day during NaNoWriMo.

I love nanowrimo. I’ll be skipping it this year… but I may have to check out your podcasts!

You’re very welcome for the tea. And I’m glad my donations are a cure for hiccups - I’ll have to remember that.

I’m glad you put this post cast out. I have been involved in many discussions regarding NaNo and what it is for. This will be my third year in NaNo and since my first year it has always been about starting and writing a new project. The 50,000 words is less important.
NaNo is about writing and creating a writing community.

Hi Mur. I loved your thoughts on NaNoWriMo. I don’t think I’ll be doing it this year. My novel needs more planning and developing time. After several false starts, I think I’m going to take Terry Brooks advice from his book, “Sometimes the Magic Works” and start outlining. In fact, someone should do a National Novel Outlining Month, or NaNoOutMo.

Okay Mur. I’m taking on NaNoWriMo. You’ve kicked me into gear.

I love Nanowrimo and will be joining for the third time. The only problem is, I’ve no idea what to write about yet…………….

Mur! Awesome podcast! One quibble: Viable Paradise is for fantasy writers, too! Not just science fiction! I should know–I’m much more of a fantasy writer than a science fiction writer (for all that PNH told me I’ve managed to write SF mermaids), and I was in your class! So there.

Hey, Mur! I don’t know if you remember me, but you gave me a copy of your book at Balticon this year.
Anyway, I want you to know that you’ve inspired me to do NaNoWriMo this year.
