Here it is. The drunken VPX party. There are not safe for work things here, not safe for kids. There are f-bombs. discussions of gay kinky frog sex. and an occasional mention of stuff people learned.
Some in-jokes: I mentioned Ophelia’s death metal in a previous post, as well as dinosaurs and sodomy. But we also learned that they key thing to adding guns to your story is to call them MODIFIED, because that way no one can call you on the details.
My third interview with the always-charming James Patrick Kelly!
Please remember that comments are screened. That means when you post something, it’s not going to appear immediately. It comes to me for approval (I approve everything that’s not spam) and then it appears. You don’t need to post it more than once.
Also, I’m aware of the recording difficulties of the iRiver and the mic I’m using and am exploring other options. I’m sorry the AC crispin interview (and, to a lesser extent, the Cory Doctorow interview) was messed up, level-wise.
I’ve been thinking a lot about rewards lately. I’ve been loathe to jump back into novel edits, the book feels like such a mess. But I promised myself I’d leave it alone till after VP, then edit it. Well, I’m home from VP. I guess I need to get to work.
So I’ve been considering some stuff I want. Mostly PS2 and DS games. It’s a very Final Fantasy fall, with Final Fantasy III being released in the US for the first time ever, Final Fantasy XII is coming out, and… um… one more. Can’t remember. Regardless, they’re time sinks and therefore not a good idea for me while doing novel edits and gearing up for NaNoWriMo.
But afterward… I’m trying to think of a good reward for myself to keep going on these edits. And then a nice present after NaNo (if I win).
Do you reward yourselves?
(another interview coming today, FYI)
Back at DragonCon, AC Crispin gave me some of her time and I’m only just now getting to posting it. Sorry!
It’s almost NaNoWriMo time! I also discuss my time at Viable Paradise.
For some future podcasts, let me give you some referential information: When we read Hamlet (Beer with Billy, where we drank and read Shakespeare) the guy playing Opheila decided to do her as a death metal singer. It was the best Ophelia I’d ever seen. Also, you must learn the appropriate balance between dinosaurs and sodomy.
Lastly, you can check out the nanomonkeys podcast where we’ll be podcasting every day during NaNoWriMo.
Be prepared.
As for cool websites, check out the latest agent blog - The Rejector. Through the rejector I was thrilled to find AgentQuery.com, supposedly the most up to date agent listing online.
Quick post- interview with James Maxey. enjoy.
[Edit show number because PG Holyfield is a smartass. I'm on vacation, dude.]
