Excellent story Mur! I just listened to it this morning on my commute. I got really invested in each of the characters even Kevin/Paul. (Who hasn’t screwed up on the job in a BIG way?) I hope to hear more of your work on EscapePod soon.

Love the story Mur. How many fiction sales does this make now? Hope more success comes your way in the future.
Oh, oh my, what a great story. Honest to god I got misty eyed as she remembered the changes that had taken place. Beautifully done.
Your personality came through loud and clear after listening to this podcast, and especially the Geek-Fu Action Grip podcast. I would read an novel written in that voice, once you get one out that’s everything you hope for.
Good luck with everything.
I loved the story… I have been listening to IshouldBeWriting and wasnt sure how I felt about it.
I kept thinking I needed to read your stuff before I could trust your advice, but i never remember to.
Well, now that I have heard your story on Escape pod, I am sure you knwo what you are talking about. Great story!
thanks for making it easy on me…
Austin- this is still three total sales. I sold this to EP in April.
Thanks Nat and Jclark for the kind comments!
Thanks for the praise, Jeff, I appreciate your hesitant stance. But remember that I do interview published authors every fourth show, so 25% of the time you can be sure you’re listening to someone who knows what he/she’s talking about!
Mur, excellent story! So touching. And thanks for including it in the ISBW feed. A couple of months ago, Windows died on me and I lost all my podcast subscriptions when I reformatted – honest to goodness, Escape Pod was a show I listed to regularly and forgot to re-subscribe to again. Until today.
I guess it’s time to admit I’m getting old.
Mur,
I’ve been reading science ficton for more than 30 years. This story moved me more than any story I have read for a very long time. Simply superb.
Excellent podcast as well. Thank you.
Regards
Bill.
Very nice work — I am a big fan of Silverberg, and this reminded me of some of his stories. Time travel stories always have some tough angles to solve, and in addition to telling a touching story, you smoothly handled (or whistled past…:) the kinds of problems that come up.
Mur,
GREAT SHOW!
I listened to it twice now. I do have one question…..When Kevin is sitting with Erica at the coffee shop, he has one hour before he has to leave…
Hmmm…. He seduces her in just an hour and leaves? Kinda cold… LOL
Lambo, he’s a time whore. He has one job. What do you expect?
Mur, I loved your story! I almost didn’t listen because I so rarely read SFF, I was afraid I wouldn’t like it, but I loved it. It definately crosses genres. Very, very nice job.
Mur, I just listened to your story over lunch. Great work! I’ve resisted subscribing to EscapePod because I’m already subscribed to more podcasts than I have listening hours in the week. I appreciate your including the story in the isbw feed. I’ll definitely be recommending your story to my friends.
Mur,
I know I’m very late in posting this, but I want you to know how much I enjoyed this story. “Santa in My Pocket” made me laugh out loud, but this one was very touching. It shows once again that what we think we want and want we really want deep down are sometimes very different.
I hope Escape Pod runs more of your stories soon!
