The world of publishing is still safe for us plain types. The Eva Longoria book deal was a lie.

Whew.

Please use Ebay for good, and not for evil. Or stupidity, as the Writer Beware blog illustrates.

The gang at Fast Forward TV do fantastic SF literary interviews - I know cause I saw them at work at Balticon and was interviewed by them. You can subscribe to the audio feed by podcast (Although I should have sat them down and explained ID3 tags to them) or watch their latest interview, with The Last Unicorn’s Peter S. Beagle.

  1. Congratulations on selling “Moat”! Where/how will it be coming out? (I’m not familiar with Scrybe.)

    Rock on!

  2. Great news on the sale!

AND thanks for two very useful links. I had no idea Fast Forward TV existed, and am eagerly downloading everything they have available now.

And your several mentions of the Writer Beware blog finallyl got me to add that to my list…

  3. They’re at scrybepress.com but I have no idea when it will come out. Mur, can you enlighten us?

I was saddened to see they had an advertisement for scriptblaster.com on their site.

How anyone thinks randomly and indiscriminately sending a manuscript to over 650 agents and publishers can be a good thing is beyond me. There’s no substitution for targetted submissions and research you do yourself.

  4. Congratulations Mur!!!

  5. Congrats Mur!

  6. Way to sneak in the “Oh I sold a story” bit at the end there. Time to change the intro again! Congrats Mur!

  7. Congrats on the sale of “Moat”!
