ISBW #22 Part 2 - Story Bibles
Happier news here, we discuss Voices: New Media Fiction with contributions from Cory Doctorow, James Patrick Kelly, Patrick McLean, JR Blackwell, Jared Axlerod, Paul Jenkins, Tee Morris, Daniel Emery and Jason Erik Lundberg. We go into small detail of the huge discussion of the Story Bible (also discuss Characters and Viewpoint), and then cover bookpitch.com, a website and podcast for writers.

In this particular show, you said something to the effect of “if you know of software for world-building / story bibles, let me know.”
Well, I know of some great software that I’ve been using for pretty much everything of that sort (and more) for the better part of 15 years, since version 1.0. They just released version 9.0.
It’s called Info Select. You can find it at http://www.miclog.com (MicroLogic). It’s not cheap, but it’s fantastic for pretty much everything. I have recipes, story notes, work notes, to-do lists, outlines, works in progress, and completed stories in it. I even have a shared “database” for work and home located on my web site so I can keep just ONE copy of some pertinent information, but access it in both places.
In addition, it will DO email, newsgroups, and probably other stuff, as well, although I don’t use it for that.
The thing that makes it GREAT is the search function. It’s awesome, really. I discipline myself to always either put the words ‘Story idea’ in the note or tag it as a story idea, which makes them even easier to link together.
Anyway, I could gush about Info Select for pages. Check it out and see if it’s useful for you. And no, I don’t work for MicroLogic. I’m just a thoroughly happy customer.
