My Exciting Life

1) Having a FUBAR with the geekfuactiongrip.com domain. And although customer service is there 24/7, billing is not, so we must wait until Monday to fix the problem. Until then you can find my other podcast, Geek Fu Action Grip, at http://essentialmath.com/geekfu/

2) I lost my voice. That cold I had last week? Yeah. Totally lost my voice. This made podcastercon difficult and painful at times. So I’m holding off podcasting until I can speak again.

3) Writing? I hit my second deadline for the podcaster book this week, that’s all I’ve been focused on. Forgot to mention a rejection from Writer’s Digest last week. Talked with Steve Eley at dinner about my plans for an entire line of “In My Pocket” stories. Next: Zombie in my Pocket.

  1. If it’s any comfort, I’ve been sick for the past couple weeks myself. My 2 year old makes sure I always have the latest and greatest germ goin’ round.

No worries with the podcast. Rest that voice and feel better soon.

    Mike

  2. Gosh–I hope you get well soon.

  3. Good luck getting your voice back.

  4. Hope you’ll feel better soon! I’ve lost my voice a couple of times and it’s very very frustrating!

  5. I swear by OTC meds if I have to speak in public. Just be careful about pseudoephedrine if you decide to take the dextromethorphan plunge. Many cold remedies have both.

While a liberal dose of the latter can give you a delightful buzz complete with out-of-body experience, a quick visit to see God, and rainbow unicorns; the former can trigger a howling panic attack.

Might make an interesting podcast though.

  6. ah, but Phil, I can’t do stimulants of any kind - caffeine, pseudoephidrine, etc. The howling panic attacks you mentioned come to me, mixed with rage. It’s not fun.

Ah well, I’m out of the woods now. :)
